If you have been looking for a new car to drive, you may want to consider Volvo motorcars. The company has a great reputation for quality and durability and their vehicles are popular with both road and off-road enthusiasts. They offer a wide variety of models and are available for both luxury and economy buyers.

SKF trademark for motorcars

Volvo, or VOLVO, is a Swedish brand of motorcars and trucks. It is also a brand name in the industrial drive systems and aerospace components industry.

The VOLVO trademark is a registered mark in many countries. The trademark’s symbol is a circle and arrow. In Latin, the symbol means “I roll.”

The arrow translates to “strength” in the English language. A symbol of this kind has been used since ancient times. During the Roman empire, it was the symbol for the planet Mars.

Today, the Volvo logo is a circular emblem with an arrow pointing toward the left. This symbol is believed to be a homage to the strength of iron.

The symbol is still found on the grille of a Volvo car today. The diagonal band was originally a technical necessity to hold the chrome badge.

The symbol is the product of a collaboration between Volvo and its former partner, Svenska Kullagerfabriken. SKF was a world leader in industrial bearings.

AB SKF incorporated Volvo as a subsidiary company in 1915. It was a precursor to the modern day Volvo Car Corporation.

Originally, the Volvo logo was designed as a way of showcasing the strength of the iron industry in Sweden. Later, it was complimented by a diagonal band across the radiator.

Swedish authorities concerned about the fate of Volvo Cars

Ahead of the Chinese carmaker’s takeover of Volvo Cars, several Swedish authorities have expressed concern about the future of the Swedish automaker. Mona Sahlin, the head of Sweden’s Social Democratic Party, said the state should consider becoming a temporary owner of the company. She hoped to provide more information about the situation shortly.

A weekend poll found that a majority of voters supported Mona Sahlin’s comments. Some officials in the metal workers’ union are angry. They said the government was going out of its way to please Geely.

But the automaker plans to restart production at its Swedish factories. Its assembly plant in Torslanda is producing the XC60 SUV and V90 station wagon. On Monday, the company reopened its offices in Torslanda.

The Swedish government is providing the automaker with a financial package to help it get through this crisis. The package includes loans worth SEK 125 billion. Other countries are also ready to offer similar support.

Among other things, the Swedish government will offer loans to cover about 44 percent of the salaries of the plant workers in the U.S. In addition, Volvo will pay 94 percent of the wages of its plant workers in Sweden.

Volvo Cars aims to make technology available to customers within a few years. This includes sharing road friction data between cars, as well as accident prevention.

Off-road capability of Volvo vehicles

The Volvo XC90 is an off-road capable SUV that can be equipped with all-terrain tires. These tires cost anywhere from $200 to $300 per tire, so you have to consider this before buying your next SUV.

The Volvo XC40 is also an excellent off-roader. It has a 248-horsepower four-cylinder engine and 8.3 inches of ground clearance. You should be able to climb up steep inclines without trouble. But it is important to note that the XC40’s approach angle is only 21.7 degrees.

Regardless of the vehicle’s performance off-road, you still need to make sure you know how to drive it on a normal road. If you get stuck in mud or snow, you can easily ruin your off-road adventure. That is why Volvo has designed its cars with soft shock absorption and smooth body movement.

To help protect you while you are out on the road, the Volvo XC90 is equipped with a world-first run-off road protection system. This feature detects pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles and prepares the airbags for impact.

Among other safety features, the XC90 is equipped with a Driver Alert Control that detects fatigue or inattentiveness and guides you to the nearest rest area. A blind spot warning is also standard.

The XC90 can also carry all the gear you need for an off-road expedition. It has 85.7 cubic feet of storage space, allowing you to pack your luggage for a long trip.
